The workshop, part of the Sustainable Flow project, became a melting pot of ideas and strategies for sustainable transportation. Heikki Koivisto, the Lead Project Manager of Sustainable Flow from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, kicked off the workshop by outlining the project's goals and main tasks, warmly welcoming all participants.
Prof. Ulla Pirita Tapaninen from TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy highlighted imminent EU regulations on emissions, underlining the critical role of compliance in propelling sustainability efforts. The session on the Port of Tallinn's GHG Calculation System by Prof. Jonne Kotta opened up new perspectives on carbon footprint assessment methodologies. Rene Pärt from the Port of Tallinn showcased digital innovations aimed at CO2 reduction, paving the way towards a greener maritime future. Kadri Haufe from Nortal enlightened attendees on smart port initiatives, using the Port of Tallinn as a prime example of sustainable practice implementation. Maiju Kaski of Fintraffic concluded the presentations with discussions on creating smarter and greener transportation systems, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and technological innovation.
The event underscored ITDA's commitment to fostering sustainability and resilience in international transportation, marking a significant step towards green growth in port operations.

The International Transport Development Association (ITDA) spēra nākošo soli ilgtspējīga transporta attīstībā apmeklējot Muuga ostu, Igaunijā. Vizītes laikā tika ņemta dalība “Sustainable Flow” projekta darbnīcā, kuras pamatā bija ideju un stratēģiju prāta vētru. Heikki Koivisto, projekta "Sustainable Flow" galvenais projekta vadītājs no Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, darbnīcu iesāka ar projekta mērķu izklāstu un galvenajiem uzdevumiem.
Prof. Ulla Pirita Tapaninen no TalTech Igaunijas Jūras akadēmijas izcēla ES regulas par emisijām, kas drīz stāsies spēkā, uzsverot atbilstības lomu ilgtspējas veicināšanā. Prof. Jonne Kotta sesija par Tallinas ostas SGG Aprēķinu Sistēmu atklāja jaunas perspektīvas oglekļa emisiju novērtēšanas metodoloģijās. Rene Pärt no Tallinas ostas demonstrēja digitālās inovācijas, kas vērstas uz CO2 samazināšanu, iezīmējot ceļu uz zaļāku jūras nākotni. Kadri Haufe no Nortal izglītoja dalībniekus par gudro ostu iniciatīvām, iepazīstinot ar Tallinas ostu pieredzi un parādot to kā teicamu ilgtspējīgas prakses īstenošanas piemēru. Maiju Kaski no Fintraffic noslēdza prezentācijas ar diskusijām par gudrāku un zaļāku transportēšanas sistēmu radīšanu, uzsverot sadarbības un tehnoloģiskās inovācijas nozīmi.
Pasākums pasvītroja ITDA apņemšanos veicināt ilgtspēju starptautiskajā transportēšanā, liekot uzsvaru uz zaļakām ostu operācijām.
