Ieslēgts July 12, 2025, the Starptautiskā transporta attīstības asociācija (ITDA) had the honour of joining the Zvejnieksvētki (Fishermen’s Festival) celebration organized by the Latvian Maritime Union (Latvijas Jūrniecības savienība). The event took place aboard the ship Vecrīga with a scenic cruise along the Daugava River.
Zvejnieksvētki is a long-standing Latvian tradition that celebrates the maritime culture and the people whose lives are closely connected to the sea. The event brought together professionals, partners, and families to enjoy panoramic views of Riga, live music, friendly conversations, and a warm, festive atmosphere.
This year’s celebration was organized with the support of the Latvian Maritime Trade Fleet Seafarers’ Union and served as a platform for both appreciation of maritime heritage and informal networking among sector stakeholders.
ITDA expresses sincere gratitude to the Latvian Maritime Union, and in particular to Roberts Gailītis, for the excellent organization and hospitality.
It was a great pleasure to share this special moment with Gaidis Andrejs Zeibots, whose experience and perspective are always valued, and to connect with Līva Goba, whose work within the maritime community continues to inspire.
We look forward to continuing cooperation within the maritime field and supporting meaningful traditions like Zvejnieksvētki that bring people together around shared values and heritage.
