ITDA at Waterborne Week 2025 | Kotor, Montenegro

On May 14, ITDA participated in the opening day of Waterborne Week 2025 in Kotor, Montenegro. The event focused on maritime digitalization, port system development, and regional coordination across the Western Balkans.

The opening session featured several key contributions:

  • Matej Zakonjšek, Director of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, emphasized the need for interoperability and the alignment of Western Balkan port systems with EU standards.

  • Filip Radulovic, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro, presented Montenegro’s advancements in implementing VTMIS II and the Maritime National Single Window (MNSW).

  • Manuela Tomassini, Head of Sustainability and Technical Assistance at EMSA, discussed EMSA’s support for technical implementation and the integration of sustainability goals into maritime systems.

  • Nexhat Kapidani, Deputy Director of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration, outlined the technical scope of VTMIS Phase II, including sensor locations, monitoring points, and data transmission infrastructure.

The forum was organized by the Transport Community in cooperation with EMSA and the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro.

ITDA continues to support sustainable, secure, and digitally integrated port ecosystems through regional and international collaboration.
